I’m normally a positive individual. I tend to treat the drama of every day life the way one shoo’s away an errant fly. Largely with a frustrated “piss off” and wave of the hand. But 2020? I know every year we say the same thing “This year sucks.” But I can’t help but think 2020 heard us bitching and after handing off his six pack to 2019, drunkenly slurred “Hold my beers” and proceeded to screw over every day life in a manner not seen in some time.
I’ve felt this acutely through June. I’m not sure why.
It could be the ongoing pandemic and a treacherous administration trying to steamroll it by burying their heads in the sand (that’s obviously going well).
It could be the once again prevalent racism in America that we seem to address for a spell then the 24 hour news cycle overrides it with something else. #BLM
It could be the literal state of American politics.
It could be that I’ve hit 17 years in the military with what seems like literally no vertical moves as far as promotion, only lateral.
I’m not sure, maybe it’s all of the above?
Even the July Issue of Envie has taken a back seat to my other every day priorities because I just haven’t had either the time or the desire to work on them.
But silver lining? The gym is finally open again so… Gains.
