I know… I told myself I’d do this every day, I mean… I had a calendar of content! But… the military has been effected by this pandemic as much as the rest of us so my schedule has been shifted around to account for social distancing requirements; I digress, the point is three days of my week I have to work and during those days finding the time to get back on here and post something is difficult.
I suppose I could start writing these in advance and just scheduling them… huh.
Anyway, I’m writing the 27th’s entry now, the 28ths will follow shortly after this one. The prompt on that day was… A place where I’d love to live.
Beautiful isn’t it? Something about the idyllic, pastoral countryside of the United Kingdom has always been a draw (I realize there’s no “countryside” per se in that picture, just humor me.) Between that and the general architecture of British homes vs. American homes its very much some place we’ve considered retiring. The problem with American homes that we (my wife and I) have come to discover is that most recent construction, features “Open floor plans” like it’s a damned benefit. Here’s the problem with open floor plans. THE NOISE IS DEAFENING. Whoever is designing these acoustic monstrosities has it down so perfect that if someone is cleaning or cooking in the kitchen you have to turn up the sound on whatever you’re doing to hear over the cacophony. That’s not just limited to the kitchen, generally any activity that produces noise causes the same effect and it’s maddening.
All that said, I realize there are difficulties associated with anywhere you live regardless of country. But the draw has always been there.
